Job summary

Zepz is seeking a technical architect to bridge complex FinTech infrastructure with high-impact marketing goals. You will engineer scalable backend services and lead initiatives that drive velocity, quality, and customer value.

This role emphasizes AI literacy, collaboration, and responsible engineering within a fast-growing FinTech environment. You will work hybrid with regular London office presence, shaping architecture, mentoring peers, and delivering features that enhance the user

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building scalable backend services.

What You Bring to the Table

You are a technical architect with a builder’s mindset. You don’t just write code; you engineer solutions that bridge the gap between complex FinTech infrastructure and high-impact Marketing goals.

Your Technical Toolkit

• Backend Skills: You have extensive experience building scalable backend services. You are proficient in Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.

• The Modern Stack: You’re at home with Spring, Python, NodeJS, and ReactNative.

• Cloud & DevOps: You’re familiar with the "how" of deployment—AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD are all part of your repertoire.

• Observability:You use the Grafana LGTM stack to hunt down faults and ensure system health before they become issues.

• AI-Ready:You are comfortable integrating AI tools within a safe, structured development environment to boost velocity.

Your Execution Style

• Quality over Quick-Fixes: You take pride in clean, readable, and well-tested code. You’d rather refactor a design for long‑term health than patch a recurring problem.

• Collaborative Leadership: You can translate "marketing‑speak" into technical requirements. You enjoy owning large projects, influencing the roadmap, and mentoring peers through code reviews.

• Customer Obsessed: You are a "get it done" person. You value shipping features that improve the user experience over chasing abstract perfection. If a flow doesn't work for the user, you’re happy to scrap the code and try again.

Bonus Points (The "Nice to Haves")

• You’ve previously worked within a MarTech or Marketing Engineering team.

• You have experience navigating the fast‑paced, high‑growth environment of a FinTech startup or scale‑up.

AI Literacy & Tools

As Zepz continues to build AI into how we work, we expect everyone to engage with it as a core part of their role. For this position we are looking for:

• A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context — whether to connect information, draft content, build frameworks, or create insights from data. We want people who actively use AI to increase productivity, not those who are waiting to be told to.
• Strong AI literacy — an understanding of what AI assistants can and cannot do, how to prompt effectively, and how to critically evaluate AI‑generated output before using it.
• Awareness of the ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace, particularly in the context of sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance.
• Prior experience using Claude (Anthropic) is a nice‑to‑have but not essential — what matters most is that you are genuinely engaged with AI as a tool, comfortable experimenting, and eager to share what works with your wider team.
