Job description

At Sandwell Council, we’re focused on providing the best possible experience for the residents who rely on our services. For many, this starts with being able to quickly access the right information on our website.

We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented web designer to ensure the content on the council’s websites is set up to provide the best possible user experience and connect residents to the services they need.

As well as our main council website, you’ll also be helping make sure our staff can easily find the information they need to do their jobs well on our intranet, and supporting teachers and school staff to access vital resources on our school extranet.

As the expert in user experience, your main duties will be to work with content editors across the council to ensure our websites are accessible, content is plain English and pages are set up to enable people to access the information they need or complete a task as quickly as possible.

Reporting to the Web Manager, you will be part of the Corporate Communications Service, working with the team to coordinate activity to ensure that we are communicating clearly and consistently with residents, staff and partners across all platforms.
