Ernest Gordon Recruitment are recruiting a Weapons Engineer Instructor (Ex‑Navy / Submariner) for a UK defence contractor based in Helensburgh. Salary starts at £48,000 and rises to £53,000 once qualified, with a 37-hour week, 6% pension, funded qualifications and clear progression routes.

In this role you will deliver hands-on weapons training in the simulator and classroom, deliver pre-set lesson plans, run assessments and help improve health and safety. Monday to Friday.

Are you a Weapons Engineer, Technician or similar with a Navy / Submariner background, looking to progress off the tools into an Instructor or Trainer role, with one of the UK's biggest defence contractors, who are responsible for training the next wave of technicians in a military environment?

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering hands‑on weapons training both in the simulator and the classroom to military trainees, deliver pre-set lesson plans, training and assessments, monitor trainee development and collaborate with colleagues to improve internal processes and uphold health and safety. This is a Monday to Friday role, 37 hour week - half day on a Friday.

This role would suit a Weapons Engineer or Technician from a Navy or Submariner background, looking for an off the tools role, full training to become an instructor and the opportunity to work for one of the biggest defence companies in the UK.

THE ROLE

• Class-room and simulator based training
• Prepare lesson plans and assess military students results
• Develop training content and improve course development
• Collaborate with colleagues and internal teams
• Mon - Fri, 37 hour week.
