Job Title: Water Treatment Service Chemist
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire.
Salary / Benefits £26k – £45k + Training + Benefits + Bonus / Commission scheme.

We are working with a leading provider of Water Treatment services who hold a UK wide presence. They are currently looking to take on an independent and open-minded Water Treatment Service Chemist who can hit the ground running. You will be working hands on across Food & Beverage, Commercial, and Public Sector sites carrying out the chemical analysis of steam boiler, cooling tower, closed loop systems. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of industrial water systems and must be confident in a client‑facing role; providing excellent technical advice and support. You will be working closely with the company’s internal sales team to upsell and promote the company’s services and products to both new and existing clients.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience working as a service chemist, ideally for a reputable Water Treatment company would be beneficial to the role.
  • Will ideally have experience in sales and will be able to confidently upsell and promote products.
  • Chemistry based degree.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office and industry relevant software.
  • Able to work well in high pressure situations.
  • Excellent customer facing and communication skills via phone / email / face to face.
  • Able to work well independently.
  • Able to manage workload in line with company and client needs.
The Role
  • Carrying out weekly / monthly steam boiler, cooling tower and closed loop system testing.
  • Carrying out closed system sampling and analysis, ensuring to dose with correct chemicals.
  • Able to confidently use onsite test kits and dose systems accordingly.
  • Creating site specific and accurate schematic drawings.
  • Maintaining company databases, ensuring they are accurate and up to date with the correct information.
  • Assisting in the training of new employees.
  • Aiding in improving work procedures and communications for client services.
  • Working closely with the internal sales team to maximise results, efficiently converting sales quotes into orders.
  • Upselling and promoting company services to new and existing clients.
  • Carrying out work in line with relevant Health and Safety / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Acting as first point of contact for Food & Beverage, Commercial, Public‑Sector clients, providing excellent technical support and advice, and dealing with all enquiries.
  • Providing detailed information to clients regarding equipment / methods that best suit their requirements.
