Qualifications

  • Must hold a City and Guilds L2 or higher in plumbing.
  • Experience as an engineer for a Water Treatment / Water Hygiene company is needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out L8 compliance duties in line with ACoP L8 / HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Perform water sampling and temperature monitoring.
  • Conduct mains injections and resolve fault issues.
  • Install, service, and replace TMV units.

Job Title: Water Treatment / Remedial Engineer
Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands
Salary / Benefits: £24k – £40k + Training + Benefits

Our client is a nationally recognised Environmental Consultancy with a strong presence in the Midlands. They are now seeking a Water Treatment / Remedial Engineer to work on Healthcare, Industrial, Local Authority, Retail, and Leisure sites, carrying out water treatment/remedial duties in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines. Cross training into other environmental sectors, excellent holiday allowance, and enrollment into the company pension scheme are offered.

Responsibilities
  • Attend a mixed portfolio of sites to carry out L8 compliance duties in line with ACoP L8 / HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Perform water sampling and temperature monitoring.
  • Descale and disinfect showerheads.
  • Conduct mains injections.
  • Attend sites to perform fault finding and rectify issues in a timely manner.
  • Carry out CWST cleans and disinfections.
  • Remove deadlegs.
  • Remove, install, and reroute copper and PVC pipework.
  • Flush little used outlets.
  • Install, service, and replace TMV units.
  • Conduct closed‑system sampling and analysis.
  • Dose closed systems with correct chemicals.
  • Update onsite logbooks correctly.
  • Liaise with clients and provide excellent technical support and advice when required.
Qualifications
  • Hold a City and Guilds L2 or higher in plumbing.
  • Have hands‑on experience as an engineer for an established Water Treatment / Water Hygiene company.
  • Have in‑depth knowledge of HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Good IT and literacy skills.
  • Good time‑keeping skills.
