Job description

Our client is a well-respected water treatment company known for their provision of professional water management services to a diverse client base. They are currently recruiting for an experienced, committed and multi-skilled Water Treatment Pre-commissioning Engineer based in and around the Edinburgh area. The ideal applicant will come from a strong water treatment / Pre-commissioning background and will have extensive experience carrying out the flushing of water systems to BSRIA standards. Consideration will be given to applications from the central belt area.

Qualifications & experience
  • The applicant must come from a strong chemical, technical and water hygiene/water treatment background.
  • Experience of working in a supervisory role within the water treatment/water hygiene industry.
  • Have extensive experience carrying out pre-commissioning works to BSRIA standard.
  • Experience within a supervisor role would be beneficial.
  • A good working knowledge of the water treatment industry and legislations.
  • Competent in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Key duties of the role
  • Organisation of equipment required for works to be carried out.
  • Planning of work schedules.
  • Attending sites to establish works required.
  • Tank cleans, disinfection of mains water systems, descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, etc.
  • Monitor client’s air and water systems to ensure compliance with the current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold water systems and cooling towers, etc.
  • Temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Install and maintain dosing systems.
  • Training of site staff where required.
  • Maintaining a professional working relationship with clients.
