Job summary

Anglian Water Group is seeking a Mechanical Operator for roles based in Carlisle, Penrith or Livingstone. The position offers a salary between £28,000 and £35,000 for a 37-hour week and includes an emergency standby rota.

You will work with the delivery team on site, carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on pumping and treatment plant assets. The ideal candidate has experience with water and wastewater technologies, strong HSE knowledge, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Experience with water and wastewater treatment technologies.
• Experience with pumping systems in water treatment.
• Excellent Health and Safety knowledge and experience.
• Understanding of environmental legislation implications.
• Hands-on experience with routine maintenance and sampling.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily routine maintenance on treatment facilities, including cleaning, sampling and maintenance tasks.
• Perform repairs and replacement work on pumping and treatment plant assets.
• Fault find on mechanical assets with a focus on first-time fix.
• Carry out confined space entries, plant repairs and tank cleaning as required.
• Assist the Regional Operations Manager in planning daily routes.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards and report issues promptly.
• Adhere to procedures and wear PPE; report deficiencies.
• Ensure site cleanliness and tidiness to high standards.
