The role involves working as part of a team to deliver National Governing Body (NGB) courses to customers who expect a high standard of service. Responsibilities include maintaining and carrying out repairs on watercraft, providing safety boat cover when required, launching and recovering craft, and conducting regular checks and maintenance on life jackets and buoyancy aids. The position offers opportunities for professional development and upskilling in relevant qualifications. Essential qualifications include holding an RYA Dinghy Instructor or Paddle Sport/SUP Instructor certification, a valid First Aid qualification, and ideally one or more of the following: RYA Senior Instructor, Keelboat or Multihull endorsement, RYA Powerboat Instructor, Paddle UK Kayak, Canoe, or SUP Coach/Instructor certification, a VHF Operator's Licence, and a clean driving licence. The role also requires working within the safety framework established by Mitie, National Governing Bodies, and relevant water authorities.
While not all qualifications are essential, they are highly desirable, and The Royal Navy Water Activity Centre (RNWAC) values continuous staff development, offering opportunities for the right candidate to gain and enhance these credentials.
