A leading engineering consultancy is hiring a Design Manager for water sector projects in Greater Manchester. This long-term, stable contract role offers a competitive hourly rate of £50 - £62.50 outside IR35 with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary design teams, oversee project delivery, and implement best practices to ensure quality outcomes. Strong experience in engineering within regulated sectors and team management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in engineering design within regulated sectors (water, rail, oil & gas, nuclear, etc.).
• Proven track record in managing design teams and projects.
• Results-focused with strong technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates.
• Lead the design process on multidisciplinary water industry projects.
• Drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessary.
• Ensure design deliverables meet safety and quality requirements.
