Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a field-based Environmental Technician to attend and investigate water pollution incidents across the Thames Valley and Greater London area. You will conduct site visits, collect samples and help with data documentation.

The role requires willingness to work a 35-hour week on a split shift pattern, undertake overtime as needed, and to communicate findings clearly to line management while supporting the team with best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in a Biological or Environmental Sciences discipline.
• Understanding of water chemistry and the indicative parameters.
• A full clean UK driving licence.
• Experience in scientific fieldwork, outdoors in all weathers.
• Competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team following precise protocols.
• Motivated, friendly and confident interacting with clients.
• Understanding of the role of regulators such as the Environment Agency (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Attend and investigate water pollution incidents across the Thames Valley & Greater London area.
• Undertaking field monitoring works including water quality measurements and sampling.
• Technical report writing in response to water pollution incidents.
• Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
• Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.
• Any other duties for which the post holder is qualified and able to carry out.
