About the Role

South East based water hygiene company are currently recruiting for an experienced water hygiene engineer to work across the Essex / East Anglia region. The successful candidate will be joining a team of established engineer and risk assessor and will be traveling to client sites to provide water hygiene and remedial tasks. Candidate will ideally hold a plumbing qualification but at a minimum will be able to demonstrate hands‑on experience delivering legionella compliance tasks and associated remedial works.

Areas of Consideration

Consideration will be given to candidates based in areas such as; Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Maldon, Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Halstead, Colchester, Sudbury, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Norwich and the surrounding areas.

Experience

• Experience carrying out a range of L8 duties to a varied client base.
• Experience working in a water hygiene engineer / environmental service technician role.
• Practical knowledge of legionella guidelines e.g. ACoP L8.
• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 Plumbing qualification (desirable).
• Good time management skills.
• IT literate.

Responsibilities

• Delivering legionella sampling and temperature regimes in accordance with ACoP L8 guidelines.
• Servicing of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
• Cold and hot water storage tank inspections.
• Tank cleans and chlorination works.
• Showerhead descales.
• Flushing of used outlets.
• Dead leg removal.
• Installation of expansion vessels.
• Installing and replacing Ball Valves.
• Insulation of Pipework, CWST and Water heaters.
• Updating logbooks and completing reports of tablet‑based systems.
