Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Water Regulations Inspector to join our Asset Operations & Capital Delivery team. You will inspect plumbing systems across the Thames Valley region, visiting domestic and commercial properties and ensuring compliance with Water Supply & Fittings Regulations.

You will carry out reactive and proactive inspections, check plumbers’ work, and assist with high-risk investigations. Base location is flexible, ideally South London or Thames Valley, with 38-hour weeks (Mon–Fri)

Qualifications

• Driving license required to drive a company van.
• Hands-on plumbing/construction/vehicle mechanic experience is beneficial.
• Awareness of Health and Safety regulations in a work environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out reactive and proactive inspections to support regulatory targets.
• Checking the work of approved plumbers and monitoring standards, skills and customer service.
• Checking reduced-pressure zone valve installations.
• Assisting with high-risk and high-profile investigations, including complex cases where water quality contamination has been confirmed.
• Looking at and helping manage the notifications the business receives about plumbing changes.
