Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a Site Agent to lead on infrastructure projects across the North West for United Utilities. You will manage on-site resources, supervise teams, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role is site-based, with regular visits to site teams, and involves reporting to management and the client. A background in utilities and clean water schemes is preferred, along with a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Utilities sector, preferably clean water projects.
• Deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and clean water schemes knowledge.
• Street Works and Confined Spaces awareness.
• Health & Safety qualification advantageous.
• Awareness of costs and programme planning.
• Strong team management and communication skills.
• IT literacy; MS Project preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational supervisory oversight for New Connections & Developer Services on site.
• Site-based oversight; review progress, ensure standards on all sites.
• Organise resources (plant, labour, materials, subcontractors) cost-effectively.
• Manage health and safety compliance including weekly checks and audits.
• Provide weekly site reports to management and client updates.
• Act as Health & Safety Representative; conduct inspections and investigations as needed.

Description

As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the resources associated with delivering a wide range of Infrastructure Projects, on the existing clean water network across with North West, for our client United Utilities.

Department: United Utilities

Location: Crooklands

Compensation: £35,000 - £42,000 / year

Key Responsibilities

• We are looking for someone to have operational supervisory responsibility for New Connections & Developer Services projects and the daily activities that take place on site.
• We are looking for someone to be site based and regularly visit teams at local site level – reviewing progress and performance and ensuring all standards are adhered to at all times.
• We are looking for someone to organise all resources for our schemes, including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors, in the most cost-effective way.
• We are looking for someone to manage compliance to our Health and Safety procedures on site e.g. weekly checks, inspections, team briefings, audits and work with the teams as required to develop them and support them in reaching their full potential.
• We are looking for someone to do weekly reporting of the sites to our management team and the client on weekly meetings and calls to update the team on progress, planning and issues.
• We are looking for someone to be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health and safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents if and when they occur

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Experience of working in the Utilities sector and ideally on clean water
• Competence, knowledge and experience in deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and clean water based schemes.
• Competence, knowledge and experience in Street Works and Confined Spaces
• Health & Safety qualification an advantage
• Awareness of costs and programme awareness
• Good team management and communication skills
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Project is preferable
• Full UK Driving Licence
