COWI is seeking a Design Manager (Wastewater Non-Infrastructure) to lead the design and delivery of wastewater projects, including treatment upgrades and process optimisation. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage design programmes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards.

Key requirements include a Civil/Mechanical/Process Eng degree, Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it, and extensive UK water sector experience within AMP7/AMP8 frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Process Engineering (or related discipline).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Extensive UK water sector non-infrastructure design experience (AMP7/AMP8).
• Experience as Design Manager or senior design lead in alliances/frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Managing and delivering design of wastewater non-infrastructure projects across AMP stages from optioneering to commissioning support.
• Acting as Design Manager within collaborative delivery models ensuring cross-discipline integration.
• Ensuring TotEx-led design solutions balancing capital and operational expenditure.
• Embedding digital engineering and BIM (ISO 19650) principles into design delivery.
• Overseeing design risk management activities (HAZID/HAZOP/ALM) and safe-by-design compliance.
• Collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and client teams for integrated, buildable solutions.
• Supporting carbon reduction and sustainability objectives; contributing to bids and framework growth.
