Job summary

ESS, Compass Group UK & Ireland, is seeking a Waste Manager to oversee DSTL sites in Wiltshire. You will lead a team, ensure safe, compliant waste services, and drive continuous improvement across DSTL operations, including site visits and reporting.

The role requires 2+ years in waste ops, strong HSE knowledge, and effective people management. A full UK driving licence and CIWM Level 4 desirable. ESS offers pension, health care, and career development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience managing waste operations in a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and waste management legislation.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• CIWM Level 4 (or equivalent) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee waste management operations across multiple sites.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the Waste Management team.
• Manage staffing, rotas, timesheets and investigations.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and service agreements.
• Drive safety, quality, efficiency and cost control.
• Build client relationships and identify service improvements.
• Attend site visits, meetings and training as required.
