Waste Management Supervisor
Grade 6, £33,699 up to £38,220 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Permanent contract

The Waste Management Section at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council is looking to appoint a highly motivated and competent person to join our team of Supervisors in delivering waste collection services to our residents and businesses.

This additional position has been created ahead of the Council rolling out a Food Waste Collection Service from February next year. The successful person will assist with preparations to ensure the smooth rollout of the new Food Waste Service from delivery of containers to commencement of food waste collections and assist the Waste Management Team Leader and Supervisors in delivering all wider aspects of waste collection services.

General duties include supervising and monitoring collection crews via physical inspections and use of telematic systems, ensuring health and safety standards are followed, maintained, and ensuring the best possible standards of service are achieved across the Borough.

You will be a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferably having previous experience of working in a front-line operational environment.

Working in this key front-line service previous supervisory experience would be advantageous together with a good understanding and practical knowledge of Health and Safety related policies and procedures, vehicle operations, customer service, and the ability to use computerised/electronic devices to assist you with these duties.

You must hold a minimum of a class C driving licence and be physically capable of meeting the demands of the job role outlined in the job description and person specification.
