A local government authority in Hinckley is seeking a Waste Management Officer to expand its team ahead of implementing a new Food Waste Collection Service. The role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, along with a current driving licence and experience in a customer-focused environment. Flexible working options and generous benefits including a pension scheme are offered.
Grade 5, £29,540 up to £33,699 per annum pro rata plus essential car user allowance of £850 per annum. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Permanent contract.
Waste Management at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council are currently looking to expand its dedicated team of waste management professionals ahead of implementing a new Food Waste Collection Service from February next year. We take pride in our key frontline public services and have invested this year in a brand new fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) with the delivery of our Food Waste vehicles planned for February next year.
Promote and encourage participation in recycling services. Provide excellent communication and customer service to deal with enquiries and investigate and resolve any customer issues. Conduct educational visits to local schools, voluntary groups and events to raise awareness of our services and encourage recycling participation. Complete site and customer visits, investigate service-related issues, and liaise with contractors or external bodies.
Current driving licence; access to a vehicle and ability to work outdoors. Eye for detail, strong analytical skills, previous experience in a customer‑focused environment, and experience with Microsoft Office systems.
