Waste Management Officer

Grade 5, £29,540 up to £33,699 per annum pro rata plus essential car user allowance of £850 per annum

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Permanent contract

Waste Management at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council are currently looking to expand its dedicated team of waste management professionals ahead of implementing a new Food Waste Collection Service from February next year.

We take pride in our key frontline public services and have invested this year in a brand new fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) with the delivery of our Food Waste vehicles planned for February next year.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated person with a keen interest in environmental services to promote and encourage participation in our recycling services. This role requires excellent communication skills and high levels of customer service to deal with enquiries and investigate and resolve any customer issues. Educational visits to local schools, voluntary groups and events to help raise awareness of our services and encourage recycling participation are also part of this role.

A current driving licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to work outdoors are essential to complete site and customer visits, investigate service-related issues and liaise with contractors or external bodies.
