We're recruiting on behalf of a Local Government team to add a Waste Management Support Assistant- A vital role dedicated to safeguarding the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of residents, workers, and visitors across the Borough.
The role:
Identifying information and training needs within the business and residential community, and planning awareness campaigns to promote compliance and wellbeing.
Inspecting, auditing and risk assessing premises across the full range of Environmental Health functions.
Investigating and resolving complaints, providing professional advice, and taking appropriate enforcement or educational action.
Preparing statutory notices, prosecution files, and acting as an expert witness when required.
Liaising with government departments, businesses, and community organisations to deliver effective partnerships and service improvements.
Assisting with emergency responses such as pollution incidents, infectious disease control, or food safety investigations.
Contributing to policy development, service improvement initiatives, and health education programmes.
Providing guidance and supervision to students or newly appointed Environmental Health Officers.
