About the Role

We are recruiting Waste Collection Operatives on behalf of a public sector client to support refuse and recycling services. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role working as part of a collection crew to ensure waste services are delivered efficiently and safely.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Remove wheeled bins from collection points, empty them, and return them safely

  • Operate mechanical lifting equipment at the rear of collection vehicles

  • Collect additional waste on designated collection days

  • Clear spillages and maintain cleanliness around collection areas

  • Assist drivers when reversing or manoeuvring vehicles

  • Identify and report contaminated or non-compliant waste

  • Engage with members of the public in a polite and professional manner

  • Support vehicle cleaning and basic maintenance tasks

Candidate Requirements
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and sustained physical work

  • Experience in waste collection, labouring, or outdoor work advantageous

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Awareness of health & safety requirements

  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties
