Job summary

The Highland Council seeks a Community Works Operative 4 (Waste) to join a dedicated crew responsible for refuse collection, bulky uplifts, and bin deliveries. You will drive a refuse vehicle, supervise a team, and conduct daily briefs/debriefs in line with safety protocols.

Occasional loader duties and some manual lifting may be required. Permanent, full-time hours run Monday to Friday with early starts from 7:00am. Commitment to safety and service excellence is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional driver capable of operating refuse collection vehicles.
• May work as loader occasionally; manual lifting may be required.
• Experience with daily briefs/debriefs, post-trip inspections, health and safety, and vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse collection and bulky uplifts.
• Deliver bins and perform driving duties as required.
• Ensure daily vehicle checks and safety compliance.
