Responsibilities

  • Inspect, sample, and verify all waste arriving on-site in accordance with compliance and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within SAP and ensure non-conformances are recorded and resolved promptly.
  • Support the safe storage, segregation and treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Provide technical advice and support to operational and quality teams.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and environmental performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Waste Chemist to join a leading organisation within the environmental services sector. This hands‑on role is responsible for the inspection, acceptance, and safe management of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste in accordance with environmental legislation and company procedures.

Reporting to the Treatment Plant Manager, you will ensure all waste arriving on‑site is correctly documented, sampled, stored, processed, and labelled in compliance with regulations and best practice techniques. The position involves working rotating shifts, including earlies, lates, and nights and requires a significant amount of outdoor work in a physically active environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, sample, and verify all waste arriving on‑site in accordance with compliance and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within SAP and ensure non‑conformances are recorded and resolved promptly.
