Job summary

Howden is recruiting for a DUAL Warranty & Indemnity Underwriting Summer Internship in London. You’ll work in a structured 10-week programme, gaining hands-on underwriting experience on real transactions and supporting the team with data, pricing and admin tasks.

Open to penultimate-year History, Economics or Law students, you’ll develop commercial judgement and see how insurance protects multi-million-pound M&A. Travel costs for a recruitment day are covered.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of History, Economics or Law degree.
• Organised, analytical and comfortable working with basic numbers.
• Curious and able to draw clear conclusions from information.
• A confident communicator who is willing to share ideas.
• Collaborative, enthusiastic and ready to get involved.
• Able to adapt when priorities or information change.
• Must have full and unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Review live transactions and broker enquiries.
• Learn how underwriting teams assess and price risk.
• Keep underwriting data accurate and up to date.
• Support invoice processing and day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with colleagues and build relationships with brokers and insurers.
