Job summary

Booker Group plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Warehouse Team Manager to support the site management team in the efficient and cost effective operation of the warehouse. It will be your responsibility to ensure the smooth running of daily warehouse operations and maintain service levels for the customer at all times.

You will manage receiving, storing, picking and dispatch within budget and safety guidelines, leading teams across shifts and driving improvements in productivity and service.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent qualifications required.
• Experience supervising teams in warehouse/logistics/distribution.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, productivity measures and service standards.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of goods to meet productivity targets.
• Ensure operations run safely and within budget.
• Lead and develop warehouse teams across shifts.

About the role

The Warehouse Team Manager will support the site management team in the efficient and cost effective management of the warehouse operations. It will be your responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the daily Warehouse operation and enable the required level of service to be provided to the customer at all times.

You will be responsible for

You will ensure that the receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of Goods in the correct manner to agreed productivity levels and within budgetary constraints, whilst maintaining a safe working environment through effective team management.

You will need

Qualifications recommended GCSE or equivalent to GCSE 4 and above.

• Experience managing or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop colleagues.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, productivity measures, and service delivery standards.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing demands.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering service excellence.
• Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience working within an FMCG warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience managing large teams across multiple shifts.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience supporting operational improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of performance management and colleague development processes.
• Relevant warehousing, logistics, or management qualifications.
• Experience with labour planning, resource allocation, or budget control.
