Job summary

Booker is seeking a proactive Team Manager to lead a multi-temp warehouse team in Hoddesdon. You’ll drive daily performance, coach staff, and ensure safe, efficient stock movement to support customer store deliveries.

You will manage shift demands, uphold hygiene and food safety standards, and promote a positive, collaborative workplace while meeting productivity goals and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years managerial experience in a warehouse.
• Experience in a multi-temperature environment.
• Numerate, literate and highly organised.
• Proficient in Excel & Word.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Knowledge of Food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to maintain safety, performance, and morale, promoting a respectful work environment.
• Train, coach, and support team members to meet standards; conduct probation reviews.
• Motivate staff through clear targets, recognition, and feedback.
• Ensure delivery of customer requirements by managing shift demands and resolving issues.
• Maintain housekeeping, hygiene, and food safety across the warehouse.
• Ensure adherence to policies and relevant legislation (Health & Safety, Food Safety).
• Lead or support disciplinary and grievance processes as needed.
• Monitor behaviour, attendance, and payroll accuracy; escalate concerns as needed.
• Minimise stock loss and costs through proactive management.
• Build positive relationships across departments and management teams.
• Demonstrate flexibility in shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

About the role

We operate the UK's ONLY flexible multi-temp, shared customer delivery logistics network. We buy, warehouse, pick and distribute the entire stock that goes into our customer's stores across the UK, priding ourselves on quality of service.

We are currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Team Manager to join our Warehouse Team. In this role, you'll lead and inspire our Warehouse Operatives, driving daily performance to meet productivity goals and deliver excellent customer service.

You will be responsible for

• Leading by example to maintain safety, performance, and morale standards; promoting a respectful and achievement-oriented work environment
• Train, coach, and support team members to meet operational standards; identify development needs and conduct 3/7/11 probation reviews
• Motivate staff through clear communication of targets, recognition, and constructive feedback
• Ensure delivery of internal/external customer requirements by managing shift demands and resolving issues effectively
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and food safety compliance across the warehouse
• Ensure team understanding and adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g., Health & Safety, Food Safety)
• Lead or support disciplinary and grievance processes
• Monitor team behaviour, attendance, and payroll accuracy; elevate concerns or trends as needed
• Minimise stock loss and credit costs through proactive management and oversight
• Build positive relationships across departments and management teams
• Demonstrate flexibility in working shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, to meet operational needs

You will need

Essential:

• A minimum of 2 x years managerial experience in a warehouse environment
• Experience in a multi-temperature environment
• Must be numerate, literate and highly organised
• Must have good keyboard skills and proficient in Excel & Word
• A team player with excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Knowledge of Food safety regulations

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Voice Technology systems
