Job summary

Dobbies Garden Centres is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to drive customer experience across stores by leading warehouse operations, stock control and smooth collaboration with the management team.

You will unload deliveries, organise stock, supervise processes and coach staff, ensuring safety and tidy facilities while supporting broader store activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Passionate about delivering the best possible experience for customers.
• Strong planning, prioritisation and problem solving skills.
• Supervisory experience with ability to identify training needs and provide feedback.
• Experience in retail with understanding of stock processes and systems; forklift license is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining warehouse and yard housekeeping to keep it safe and tidy.
• Overseeing warehouse operations to maintain standards and stock control.
• Supervision and monitoring of stock processes and procedures.
• Work closely with management and staff to ensure clear communication and feedback.
• Support and coach staff and deputise for the stock controller when absent.
• Occasionally work on shopfloor and other store areas, including take-to-car deliveries and stock routines.
• Some key holder responsibilities may be required.

Job description

Our Warehouse Team Leaders play an essential role in delivering customer experience across our stores - driving sales, promoting customer loyalty and maintaining high warehouse standards, whilst assisting the management team.

Responsibilities

• Unloading deliveries, checking incoming stock and arranging items correctly
• Maintaining the housekeeping of the warehouse and yard, ensuring it is kept safe and tidy
• Overseeing the warehouse operations to maintain standards and stock control
• Supervision and monitoring of stock processes and procedures
• Working closely with the management team and staff members to maintain excellent communication and feedback, whilst highlighting any issues
• Supporting and coaching other staff members and deputising for the stock controller in their absence
• You will also work on the shopfloor and other areas of the store as and when required, this may include take to car deliveries, stock control routines, assisting with heavy lifting - an ideal opportunity to gain more skills and experience
• Some key holder responsibilities may be required

• You'll bring operations expertise with experience in retail and an understanding of stock processes and systems - a relevant forklift truck license would be ideal
