Job description
Responsibilities
  • Team management: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of FLT/reach truck Operatives and Goods In employees, including providing coaching and delegating tasks.
  • Operations coordination: Oversee and coordinate all warehouse activities, such as receiving and distribution of material/stock/printed items to internal/external stakeholders, ensuring SLA of the order fulfilment has been met.
  • Stock control: Manage and track stock levels, by ensuring the team are completing all movements within Deltas stock management system and proactively resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Process improvement: Analyse warehouse performance metrics and implement new strategies and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
  • Safety and compliance: Enforce company policies and safety regulations, maintain a clean and organised warehouse, and conduct safety inspections.
  • Equipment maintenance: Ensure the team are completing the required pre‑use checks and to report any issues with equipment to suppliers and remove the use of such equipment from the operation, such as forklifts.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities and prepare reports on productivity and other key performance indicators (KPIs). The post holder agrees to be committed to health and safety and be aware of their contribution towards it in the workplace. This includes the requirements to monitor.

Additional responsibilities: This role is based within a fast‑paced environment, so must be able to adapt to changing priorities and manage operations under pressure.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience: A minimum of 2-5 years Supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution centre.
  • Leadership and communication: Strong leadership skills to supervise and motivate a team, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with staff and other departments.
  • Organizational skills: Strong time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Problem‑solving abilities: The capacity to think critically and resolve operational challenges and employee conflicts promptly.
  • Technical knowledge: Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory control methods, and standard computer software.
  • Safety knowledge: A solid understanding of warehouse safety protocols and regulations, with certifications in forklift operation or safety management being a plus.
