Warehouse Stock Controller

Location: Hertford

Salary: £12.21 per hour / £28,000 - £29,000 per annum

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

My client is a fast-paced and creative business specialising in production, branded solutions, and fulfilment services. They partner with leading brands to deliver high-quality, bespoke solutions and are now seeking a Warehouse Stock Controller to support their expanding operations.

The Role

As a Warehouse Stock Controller, you will take ownership of managing inventory across a wide range of products, ensuring stock is accurate, well organised, and ready to meet client needs. This role is ideal for an organised and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate stock levels across multiple product categories
• Carry out cycle counts and full stock audits
• Manage goods-in processes and ensure correct booking-in procedures
• Coordinate despatch stock allocations and ensure timely replenishment of pick locations
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in collaboration with warehouse, procurement, and account management teams
• Keep the warehouse organised, compliant, and aligned with operational requirements
• Support reporting and forecasting for critical and high-turnover stock lines
• Use inventory management software and Microsoft Excel to record, track, and report on stock movements

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, data entry, reporting) and experience with inventory software
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling - including lifting, moving, and organising stock
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment where physical activity is required daily

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience within a fulfilment, logistics, or warehousing environment
• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Experience supporting logistics and despatch operations
