Job summary

L&C Employment Consulting is seeking a Warehouse Operative for an initial three‑month contract at Knockin Industrial Estate, Shropshire. The role involves receiving, checking, and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate stock records, and handling a range of client assets in a busy warehouse.

You will work Mon–Fri, 08:30–18:00 with overtime, and may secure a permanent position. Appropriate training, PPE, and a discretionary bonus are offered, plus pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with manual handling and working in a warehouse environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in stock counting and order processing.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and stay organised.
• Good IT literacy and ability to use cloud-based platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare jobs and equipment within the warehouse.
• Ensure stock controls are up to date and accurate.
• Prepare goods for dispatch and load/unload client assets.
• Store goods safely and maintain a tidy warehouse.
• Conduct general housekeeping and operate MHE (Counterbalance/Reach).
• Communicate using cloud-based IT platforms with teams and clients.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.

Overview

Position: Warehouse Operative

Employment: Initial contract until September (3 months) with a chance of securing a permanent position.

Location: Knockin Industrial Estate, Shropshire, SY10 8E

Purpose of Role

As a Warehouse Operative you will report into the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, working both alone and as part of a team to onboard, control, maintain and report accurate stock count of a diverse set of client assets.

Hours of work

Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 18:00 with regular overtime available.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of jobs and equipment within the warehouse
• Ensure all stock controls are up to date
• Prepare all goods for dispatch
• Load and unload a diverse range of client assets
• Ensure all goods are stored safely within the warehouse
• General housekeeping within the warehouse
• Operating MHE, Counterbalance / Reach truck
• Using numerous cloud-based IT platforms to communicate within departments and clients
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines
