Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our depot in Two Waters. You will unload deliveries, check stock, operate forklift trucks, and ensure accurate records and safe, tidy stock handling.

You’ll work with a supportive team in a fast-paced environment, with training, development opportunities, and a strong bonus and benefits package. A forklift licence is desirable, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift licence is desirable.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong attention to detail with stock and records.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and check stock accurately.
• Daily checks on forklift trucks and equipment.
• Ensure stock is secure and prepared for dispatch.
• Complete regular stock checks and maintain records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and efficient.
• Support trade customers with professional service.
• Assist with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with depot team to keep operations running smoothly.

What we’re looking for:

• A valid forklift licence is desirable
• Good understanding of stock control and health and safety
• Someone who can work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, especially when handling stock and maintaining accurate records
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management skills
• A customer focused approach, with a friendly and professional attitude
• Clear communication and strong organisational and planning skills
• Someone who is reliable, hands on and takes pride in a safe, tidy and well‑run warehouse

What you’ll be doing:

• Unloading deliveries and checking stock accurately, in line with health and safety standards
• Carrying out daily checks on forklift trucks and equipment
• Ensuring stock is secure and accurately prepared for dispatch
• Completing regular stock checks and maintaining accurate records
• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and efficient through effective stock rotation
• Supporting trade customers with a professional and helpful service
• Assisting with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations
• Working closely with the wider depot team to keep the operation running smoothly
