Job summary

Howdens Joinery is looking for a Warehouse Person at our Leigh-on-Sea depot to help keep stock organised and ready for collection or delivery. This hands-on role emphasises health and safety and working as part of a team.

You will unload deliveries, check stock, run daily forklift checks and support trade customers with a professional service. We offer a 40-hour week, a strong bonus scheme, generous pension and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• A valid forklift licence is desirable.
• Good understanding of stock control and health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with stock handling and records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management skills.
• Customer focused with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Clear communication and strong organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and check stock accurately in line with health and safety standards.
• Carry out daily forklift truck and equipment checks.
• Ensure stock is secure and prepared for dispatch.
• Complete regular stock checks and maintain records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and efficient through stock rotation.
• Support trade customers with a professional and helpful service.
• Assist with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations.
• Work closely with the depot team to keep operations running smoothly.
