Job summary

Blackburn Manufacturing Company is seeking a Senior Experienced Operational Warehouse Manager to join an expanding team in Blackburn on a fixed-term 6 months or longer. The role requires immediate availability, on-site work five days a week, and leadership to streamline warehouse distribution and establish ownership across teams.

You will drive end-to-end improvements, setting KPIs, coaching staff, and coordinating with operations to ensure timely imports/exports and accurate picking.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years+ at Senior Management level.
• Experience in warehouse distribution and management.
• Available immediately and able to travel to local locations for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Operations Director and lead end-to-end warehouse operations.
• Create clear ownership and accountability for each team member.
• Streamline inbound/outbound processes for timely dispatch and 100% pick/dispatch vs plan.
• Define picking accuracy KPIs and drive improvement initiatives.
• Oversee export processes to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient handling.
• Coach and develop staff, embedding ownership and changes to SOPs and practices.

We are looking for a Senior Experienced Operational Warehouse Manager who is available immediately to join this expanding and established manufacturing company. Due to growth and internal changes the client is looking for a candidate to join the company in a leadership and compliance role. You will be using your experience to streamline processes and work with the other managers and team leaders, coaching and leading them to progress their skills to implement ownership and accountability within structure of warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• This role of interim Warehouse Optimisation Manager will report directly to the Operations Director
• You will be responsible for streamlining operations from end to end to achieve 100% pick/dispatch vs plan daily.
• You will create clear ownership and accountability of each team member
• You will ensure raw materials processes in and out of the Warehouse is streamlined and simplified with clear ownership.
• You will ensure consistent container unloading / picking processes for smooth same day dispatches from inbound containers.
• The role is responsible for export process to ensure that this is completed timely, accurately and efficiently to GSS team.
• You will have responsibility for defining picking accuracy KPI's and identify areas of improvement.
• As a leader you just be able identify weaknesses in individuals; correct, embed and change if necessary.
• As a Stakeholder feedback will be crucial daily on Warehouse performance to wider teams - customer service, logistics, GSS.
• This role is working closely with a member of existing staff to work with them to coach and develop by using your expertise and previous career history. You will work together on tasks and solutions to ensure that sustainability and significant change is implemented timely.

This Role is available immediately. It is working alongside an existing team to improve SOP's and working practices. You will be on site 5 days a week in Blackburn or attending me
