Warehouse Operative

Location: Stevenage

Hours: 42.5 hours per week scheduled over any 5 days - including weekends - between 6am and 8pm.

About the role

We are searching for a Warehouse Operative to support warehouse operations through the efficient and accurate picking, packing, storage and management of inventory. The role is integral to maintaining a well‑organised warehouse ensuring timely order fulfilment and maintaining stock accuracy. It involves direct handling of goods, operating machinery and using an ERP system to track inventory while adhering to best practices for safety and organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve high levels of accuracy and efficiency in picking and packing sales orders.
  • Ensure that orders are correctly labelled to prevent returns and maintain GDPR compliance.
  • Process returned orders in line with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work with an ERP system to record data accurately.
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies.
  • Store products using the FEFO (First Expiry First Out) procedure.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all goods in the warehouse.
  • Replenish pick locations and conduct weekly stock counts.
  • Organise and transfer goods ensuring safe handling including manual lifting of up to 25kg and operating a forklift for larger units.
  • Arrange storage racking to maximise available space and ensure safe storage.
  • Keep the warehouse organised and ensure good housekeeping.
  • Maintain and clean storage areas to promote an efficient working environment.
