Job summary

SIG Construction Accessories in Birmingham seeks a reliable Warehouse Operative to join our branch. You will help with deliveries, receive and store goods, pick orders, and load vehicles, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on maintaining stock records, carrying out daily checks on handling equipment, and supporting a culture of safety: “Everyone Safe, Every Day.” Previous warehouse experience is advantageous; a valid forklift licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Good data accuracy, numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Strong health and safety knowledge.
• Experience in a warehouse or yard role is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deliveries, unloading and loading of vehicles.
• Receive and store goods in correct locations.
• Prepare customer orders and load onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries and report stock breakages.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and equipment.
• Promote a safety culture: Everyone Safe, Every Day.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.
