Job summary

Fowler Welch in Washington, United Kingdom is seeking a Warehouse Operative for night shifts. The role focuses on loading/unloading, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to policies to ensure timely, quality dispatches.

You will work in a chilled environment, maintain safety standards, and ensure goods are picked, packed and secured correctly. The job includes reporting faults and supporting HACCP procedures as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work within a chilled/cold environment.
  • Experience of meeting deadlines and ensuring quality of work.
  • Understanding of verbal and numerical reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Load/unload product in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Complete correct documentation for inbound and dispatch loads.
  • Report trailer or MHE faults per Company procedures; place VOR vehicles in designated areas.
  • Maintain accuracy in picking and assembling goods as per instructions.
  • Ensure dispatched loads are properly secured before leaving the loading bay.
  • Meet productivity targets while maintaining required standards.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policy, SSOWs and HACCP; challenge colleagues who breach rules.
  • Receive, record and notify Stock Controller of customer returns.

Job Description
  • To ensure you load/unload product strictly in line with the Company's policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the correct documentation is completed for all inbound and dispatch loads.
  • Reporting any trailer or MHE faults in line with Company procedures and ensuring VOR vehicles are placed in the designated areas.
  • To remain vigilant in ensuring goods are picked and assembled accurately as per instructions.
  • To ensure dispatched loads are properly secured prior to leaving the loading bay.
  • To reach and maintain the standards required to meet the Company's productivity targets.
  • Ensure all practices and procedures are safely carried out in line with the Company’s Health & Safety policy, SSOWs and HACCP regulations, where appropriate, and to challenge colleagues who fail to adhere to any such rules or regulations.
  • Ensure customer returns are received, recorded and notified to the appropriate Stock Controller
