Job summary

NORTHERN BL°C is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support our fast-growing ice cream operation in the UK. You will help receive, store, pick and dispatch goods on time, while adhering to health and safety procedures.

Work is 8-hour shifts from 8:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday with occasional overtime. You will maintain stock accuracy, assist with deliveries, and keep the site clean and safe. The role includes a benefits package after probation.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in warehouse operations.
• Good literacy and numeracy to manage documentation and stock records.

Responsibilities

• Comply with operational procedures, health & safety, and legal requirements.
• Support the warehouse team leader in maintaining smooth daily operations and meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Take responsibility for completing tasks to required standards within timescales.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and simplify processes.
• Carry out daily warehouse tasks: receiving, put-away, picking, packing and despatching goods accurately.
• Maintain stock handling by following inventory procedures and reporting discrepancies or damages.
• Keep warehouse, vehicles, and storage areas clean, organised, and safe.
• Conduct local deliveries of finished goods and equipment, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after deliveries and report issues promptly.
• Ensure deliveries have correct documentation and obtain proof of delivery.
• Support event deliveries and collections including loading, unloading, setup and breakdown.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily warehouse tasks such as receiving deliveries, put‑away, picking, packing, and despatching goods accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate stock handling by following inventory procedures and reporting discrepancies or damages.
• Keep the warehouse, vehicles, and storage areas clean, organised, and safe at all times.
• Conduct local deliveries of finished goods and equipment, ensuring items are delivered safely, securely, and on time.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after deliveries, reporting any defects or issues promptly
• Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by the correct documentation and obtain proof of delivery where required.
• Support event deliveries and collections, including loading, unloading, setup, and breakdown of equipment as needed

Skills

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts covering our 8:00am–8:00pm operational window (alternating shifts: 8:00-16:00 / 12:00-20:00)
• Monday to Friday
• Occasional out of hours overtime required as production demands
