Job summary

Ocado Logistics is hiring a Warehouse Operative in Erith to prepare customer orders in our advanced fulfilment centre. You’ll work across day and night shifts, with schedules announced 6–13 weeks in advance. Night shifts include a premium.

Roles include Inbound, Pick, and Despatch with a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. Shift patterns and safety protocols are emphasized to ensure smooth operations. We welcome newcomers and provide training; you must be 18+, able to travel to site, and able

Warehouse Operative – Erith | Day and Night Shifts

As a Warehouse Operative with Ocado Logistics, you’ll play a vital role in preparing customer orders in our state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in Erith.

With day and night shifts available across a variety of departments, you can select the shift that best suits you. You’ll receive your work pattern 6 to 13 weeks in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan with family and friends.

Night-shift colleagues will also receive an enhanced premium for hours worked between midnight and 06:00.

What We’re Looking For

• New to warehousing? No problem. Skills can be taught. Bring your positive attitude and we’ll support you every step of the way.
• You must be 18 or over.
• You must be able to handle meat and alcohol.
• You must be able to travel to and from the site reliably for your scheduled shifts.
• For your safety and the safety of others, you must be able to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.
• Please note that we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to fulfil customer orders.

Available Roles

• Inbound - Receive goods from suppliers and place them into totes ready for our robots and picking teams. You’ll help ensure stock is available and ready for customer orders
• Days Inbound – 06:00 to 16:00
• 4 days per week as per roster
• Nights Inbound – 18:00 to 06:00
• 4 nights per week as per roster.
• Pick and pack customer orders into shopping totes with care and accuracy. Our technology and robotics help support the process, making it an exciting and fast-paced environment.
• Days Pick – 06:00 to 15:00
• 4 days per week as per roster
• Nights Pick – 18:00 to 06:00
• 4 nights per week as per roster
• Despatch - Load customer totes into delivery frames ready for dispatch and organise returned totes from delivery routes. This is a physical role involving regular lifting and moving of goods, making it a fast-paced and active role.
• Days Despatch – 06:00 to 17:00
• 4 days per week as per roster
• Nights Despatch – 19:00 to 06:00
• 4 nights per week as per roster

What You’ll Receive

• Basic rate: £12.93 per hour
• Night-shift premium between midnight and 06:00: an additional £2.67 per hour
• Overtime paid at 1.25x the basic rate
• The opportunity to increase your earnings through our performance-based incentive scheme, where top performers receive additional hourly premiums
