Job summary

The Dash Group's Dash Express Plymouth depot is seeking a Warehouse Operative for the AM shift. You will help load/unload, sort parcels, and ensure drivers are loaded and dispatched on time.

We are looking for reliable individuals with warehouse experience, a full UK driving licence, and a commitment to safety. DBS checks are required for all staff, and competitive pay (£12.75/hour) plus holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong attention to detail when sorting and handling goods.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Must be punctual and reliable for early shifts.
• Excellent communication skills for customer support on the phone or in person.
• All staff must pass a basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload vehicles; heavy lifting included.
• Sort parcels and freight by route; prepare for dispatch.
• Ensure safe handling using manual handling techniques.
• Load vans and trunk vehicles for on-time dispatch.
• Support wider warehouse operations to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Report problems to line manager during the day.

Job description

We are looking for committed and reliable individuals to help out on the AM shift in our warehouse.

Location: Dash Express Plymouth, Eden House, Saltash, PL12 6LX

Reports to: Operations Manager

Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday-5:00AM-09:00AM

Rate of Pay: £12.75

Your purpose

Dash Express is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.

As our Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of parcels and goods within the depot. Supporting the early morning operation, you will be responsible for preparing deliveries, organising freight, and ensuring drivers are loaded and dispatched on time.

Duties & responsibilities will include

• Load and unload vehicles (heavy lifting will be included in this role)
• Sort and segregate parcels and freight by route, preparing them for dispatch.
• Ensure all freight is handled safely and securely, using appropriate manual handling techniques.
• Ensuring our vans and trunk vehicles are loaded and ready to dispatch on time
• Support the wider warehouse operation with general duties, maintaining workflow efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with Health & Safety standards.
• Quality checking items and reporting damage or any issues in line with company procedure
• Working collaboratively with the team to ensure the warehouse operates smoothly and efficiently
• Report any problems to your line manager throughout the day.

Our desired qualities

• Experience in a warehouse or in logistics.

• A full UK driving licence.
• The physical ability to manually lift and move (sometimes heavy) parcels at a high volume.
• Punctual, reliable and able to arrive on time for early morning shift start time
• Excellent communication skills to provide customer support on the phone or in person
• All staff are required to pass a basic DBS check
