Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a motivated Warehouse Operative to support safe and efficient reception, storage, inventory management, and release of materials. You will work within a defined framework, solve problems with technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement within a multicultural team.

The role requires autonomy, adherence to EHS guidelines, and flexibility to work early shifts, weekends, and offshore project environments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications.
• Experience using ERP/WMS systems.
• Valid Forklift and Stacker Licence.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods storage.
• Electrical or mechanical education or relevant experience.
• Oracle / ERP knowledge and experience.
• Strong management and operational skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to respond to emergency calls at weekends.
• Willingness to work off-hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all EHS guidelines and safe working practices.
• Receive and unload deliveries from suppliers.
• Check goods for accuracy, quantity and damage.
• Store products in designated locations.
• Pick and pack orders accurately.
• Prepare orders for dispatch and shipment.
• Load delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Stow stock in vessels’ designated locations.
• Conduct stock counts and inventory checks.
• Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe.
• Follow 5S and Lean Principles.
• Support projects and continuous improvement activities.

Job Description Summary We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Warehouse Operative to support the safe and efficient reception, storage, inventory management, and release of materials. You will be fully proficient in warehousing and inventory activities and will contribute to projects and initiatives within the operation. You will execute operational standards and processes within your defined area of responsibility, while understanding how your work integrates with other teams and contributes to the wider operation. The role requires autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and the ability to solve problems using sound technical knowledge and judgement within established procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Following all EHS guidelines, policies, and safe working practices
• Receiving and unloading deliveries from suppliers
• Checking goods for accuracy, quantity, and damage
• Storing products in designated warehouse locations
• Picking and packing orders accurately
• Preparing orders for dispatch and shipment
• Loading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
• Stowing stock into designated locations on vessels
• Conducting stock counts and inventory checks

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a parts warehouse or logistics environment, ideally with experience as a Warehouse Associate on an offshore project
• Ability to work effectively under physical and time pressure
• Team player with a decisive and practical approach
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Wind turbine generator experience is an advantage

Additional Information

Shift Pattern: 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off: from 6am to 6pm
