Job description

• £12.21 per hour with Overtime paid at £18.32 per hour- Time and a Half after 37 hours per week.
• We're open 7 days a week, between 6am to 10pm, and offer various shift patterns, including weekends. Choose a shift pattern that fits your lifestyle.
• Fixed and Part-time: possible - ask about availability.
• Open days: Every Wednesday 10am to 2pm in Lakeland Distribution Centre, Kendal, LA9 6NW.
• Ensure you bring your right to work documents on the day. UK Passport, Birth certificate, Share code and proof of National Insurance (Must be physical copies not pictures).
• If you attended a previous recruitment event you do not need to attend.

Your role as a Warehouse Operative

As a Warehouse Operative you will be making sure the customers receive their orders on time and in excellent condition. You will also be a part of a dedicated team processing high volume best sellers from the warehouse. Your main tasks will involve but won't be limited to:

• Picking and Packing items ready for distribution in line with set targets
• Moving cages and unloading products out of cases to fill the shelves
• Using computer, tablet and a handheld scanner
• Boxing items on a line/station ensuring products are carefully wrapped and secured ready for shipping
• Manual lifting and moving heavy goods
• Pushing and pulling equipment
• Preparing Heated Airers for home delivery
• Adhering to and upholding strict Health and Safety standards
• Ensuring the warehouse is always clean

Key Skills & Attributes

• Able to spend prolonged periods of time standing, walking, pushing and lifting
• Able to regularly lift and move light and large and/or heavy and large goods
• Willing to operate manual pallet trucks
• Possess manual handling skills and H&S awareness
• Good level of communication, with basic maths skills
• Confidence in using basic computer equipment
• Attentive to details, reliable and willing to learn
• PPE is required, but we will provide this
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must already have and hold a legal status to work in the UK
