Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd in Heathfield is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team on site. You will operate forklifts, handle goods, and manage stock using WMS and Zebra PDA scanners.

The role includes order picking, dispatch, stock replenishment, and reporting using Excel, with a focus on accuracy and safety. We offer a competitive salary of £31,395 per annum, Monday to Friday with rotating two-week shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance and Pivot Forklift Trucks safely for goods movement.
• Load and unload vehicles ensuring safe handling per procedures.
• Complete order picking, stock movements and dispatch using WMS and scanners.
• Receive, locate, replenish, consolidate and dispatch stock with accuracy.
• Carry out stock checks and admin tasks in Excel and digital systems.
• Maintain paperwork accurately and report discrepancies or issues.
• Keep a clean, safe and well-organised working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for efficiency and safety.

Job Description

Are you passionate about Warehouse and Logistics and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics company? We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Heathfield site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance Forklift Trucks and Articulated Pivot Trucks, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods. A valid and up-to-date forklift licence is desirable.
• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all goods are handled safely, securely, and in accordance with company procedures.
• Accurately complete order picking, stock movements, and dispatch activities using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), Zebra PDA scanners, and other warehouse technology.
• Receive, locate, replenish, consolidate, rotate, and dispatch stock, maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and supporting efficient warehouse operations.
• Use Excel and other digital systems to carry out stock checks, basic reporting, inventory control activities, and operational administration tasks.
• Complete all required warehouse documentation and paperwork accurately, following company procedures and reporting any stock discrepancies, equipment defects, or operational issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment, ensuring all equipment is operated responsibly and kept in good working condition.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and workplace safety.

Required Experience

• Hold a current Counterbalance forklift licence is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work within a fast paced environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Hours

Monday to Friday, working on a rotating two-week shift pattern:

• Week 1: 06:00hrs - 16:00hrs
• Week 2: 08:00hrs - 18:00hrs
