Job summary

The Job People is hiring for a Warehouse Operative at a busy distribution centre in Crick. The role is full-time, offering fixed day shifts (6:00 – 14:30) with weekend work and potential progression to a full-time contract.

Responsibilities include order picking and packing using RF scanners, stock movement, and operation of scanners and labelling machines. Overtime after 8 hours and weekly pay are provided along with a canteen, pension, and free on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Strong English reading and speaking skills.
• Self-motivated with good communication with managers and colleagues.

Warehouse Operative – Overview

We are looking for Warehouse Operatives to join a busy distribution centre in Crick. The role is full‑time, with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Support warehouse operations, including order picking & packing using RF scanners.
• Ensure accuracy and minimise mistakes.
• Move pallets and stock to various locations.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
• Operate scanners and labelling machines.
• Perform general duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience in order picking and packing with RF scanners.
• Familiarity with forklifts, PPT trucks, counterbalance forklifts and handheld scanners.
• Valid in‑house or expired licences acceptable if recent experience is demonstrated; licences can be refreshed internally.
• Strong English reading and speaking skills.
• Self‑motivated, friendly, and able to communicate effectively with managers and colleagues.
• ‘Can‑do’ attitude and willingness to perform other warehouse duties when needed.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.

Shift Hours & Working Conditions

• Fixed day shift, 8 hours per day (6:00 – 14:30), including weekends.
• Shifts may start as early as 5:00 am or finish later to support the business.
• 5 shifts are scheduled Monday – Saturday.
• Weekend support required during busy periods.
• Overtime paid daily after 8 hours worked.
• Opportunity to go permanent after a qualifying period.
