The Role

The Warehouse Operations Manager will play a critical role in leading all activity across the operation within their field, working closely with the site General Manager, based at their flagship site in Bedford.

This position offers an exciting opportunity with significant autonomy for an experienced logistics and supply chain professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organization.

Core Aspects of the Warehouse Operations Manager role:

• End-to-End Supply Chain Management - Oversee the full supply chain process, ensuring efficient procurement, inventory control, and demand planning to meet business needs.
• Manage a team of approximately 100 indirect and 8 direct reports.
• Optimize Logistics Operations - Manage warehouse and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and key stakeholders to drive performance and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure accurate stock levels, reduce waste, and improve inventory forecasting to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Oversee sales order processing, ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Monitor and analyze supply chain KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage warehouse operations, ensuring optimal layout, stock movement, and safety compliance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, negotiate better supplier terms, and reduce operational costs without compromising service quality.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry regulations, mitigating risks across the supply chain.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• A Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain background - Essential.
• Experience managing over 100 indirect reports and over 8 direct reports.
• At least 5 years of proven logistics and supply chain supervisory or management experience across operations - Essential.
• 3PL warehouse experience - Essential.
• Previous budgetary/P&L responsibility - Advantageous.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams - Essential.
• An individual excited by large-scale growth challenges - Essential.
• Ability to commute to Bedford 5 days a week - Essential.
