Job description
Overview

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead a small team in a busy food manufacturing environment. This role will oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring the safe storage, handling and dispatch of chilled and frozen products.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of warehouse operatives, setting goals and monitoring performance.
  • Plan and coordinate the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
  • Maintain stock accuracy and inventory control using ERP systems.
  • Ensure warehouse processes meet food safety, allergen and hygiene standards.
  • Schedule staff rotas and oversee training in safety, quality and operational procedures.
  • Liaise with production, third-party warehouses and suppliers to ensure smooth stock movement.
  • Motivate and organise the team to achieve productivity targets.
  • Manage warehouse equipment, vehicles and mechanical handling equipment.
  • Produce reports and monitor KPIs to support continuous improvement.
  • Book transport with 3rd Party Suppliers.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven previous experience managing successful warehouse teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong people manager who enjoys motivating and developing teams and a positive culture.
  • Food manufacturing and cold/chill experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, ERP systems and dispatch processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
