Purpose
The Warehouse & Device Configuration Assistant at Global Payments Stadia and Events will play a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager and Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager in managing our warehouse operations and helping to deploy card terminals, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and high standards of customer service.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Receiving, unpacking, arranging, and storing goods.
- Gathering, packing, preparing, and loading goods for dispatch.
- Checking stock for damage and wear.
- Reporting faults and discrepancies.
- Marking and labeling stock.
- Processing inbound and outbound shipments.
- Verifying shipping documents.
- Ensuring products are stored correctly and in good condition.
- Managing and organising stock.
- Packing orders (excluding heavy lifting).
- Updating spreadsheets for incoming MTC equipment.
- Picking and packing outgoing orders and MTC equipment.
- Regular driving of Forklift.
- Assisting with stock takes and audit preparation.
- Keeping all stock items organised in designated locations.
- Preparation of Card Terminal orders accurately and efficiently, familiar with all procedures for card terminals (Lanes, Moves or Pax) including Software Loading, TMS and thorough Testing.
- Preparing card payment terminals for dispatch, including testing, cleaning, secure boxing and configuration of settings and setup.
- Cleaning and testing card payment terminals between events/deployments as they return to the warehouse.
- Workshop based work – configuration of EPOS hardware including servicing of loan units: POS, printers and other equipment (replacing broken parts, refurbishing, testing etc.).
- Installing and configuring payment terminals, including setting up and testing, connecting devices to networks, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Performing simple technical tasks around EPOS and card terminal hardware, including removing or fitting parts.
- Providing onsite technical support during events, monitoring performance, diagnosing and fixing issues as they arise, and providing timely response service to issues and queries.
- Physical deliveries and collections at customer locations as required.
- Ensuring the main warehouse and Windsor facility is well organised, clean, and tidy at all times.
- Inspecting the warehouse for hazards and following health and safety procedures daily.
- Providing occasional assistance in the field to support wider business operations.
- Undertaking other relevant tasks as directed by the Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager or the site Project Manager, or when reasonably requested by other team members.
- Performing general warehouse duties such as tidying, sweeping and other tasks assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager or the Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager.
Competencies
- Skilled forklift operator.
- Aware and understanding of health and safety in a busy warehouse.
- Confident driver of various vehicles – small vans to Luton vans.
- Technical knowledge to handle card payment terminals and point of sale hardware.
- Dedicated and hard‑working with willingness to get hands dirty.
- Ability to work and react to a changing environment and respond pragmatically to problems as they arise.
- IT or computer skills or experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and professional approach; self‑motivated, organized, punctual, and responsive.
- Excellent interpersonal, active listening and communication skills.
- Knowledge of EPOS and payment devices, configuration and support.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for multiple priorities, deadlines, objectives and workloads.
