Job summary

A major trauma ward in the South West is seeking a dedicated support staff member to handle administrative tasks and front-line patient interactions. You will be the first friendly face visitors see and will manage various administrative duties. Experience with Microsoft applications is essential, while training will be provided for specific tools. The role is in a busy environment, demanding prioritisation and pressure management skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must.
  • CareFlow experience will be an advantage although training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with external/internal enquiries carefully and efficiently.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Admin work in a ward environment including filing and booking transport.

Overview

Come and work with the friendly 25A team! We are the major trauma ward for the South West. We look after a range of trauma patients including Orthopaedic, general surgery and plastics.

Responsibilities
  • To deal with external/internal enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
  • To be aware of patient confidentiality at all times
  • To carry out the filing of medical notes
  • To carry out the photocopying of case notes when required
  • To carry out the scanning of case notes when required
  • To deal with any phone enquiries when required
  • To ensure attendance at mandatory training sessions, involvement in appraisals and personal development plans and adherence to Trust policies
  • To work under standard operating procedures (SOP’S)
  • To carry out admin work in a ward environment; including filing, opening post, updating spreadsheets with patients information, booking transport and follow up appointments
  • Being the first friendly face visitors see when arriving on the ward
  • Communicating with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Previous experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must, CareFlow experience will be an advantage although training will be provided
  • Being an extremely busy department, the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise changing workloads is absolutely essential for this role
Location

You will be located on 25A, a busy major trauma ward within the Brunel Building at Southmead Hospital.
