Job description
Overview

Our Ward Medicine Assistants are recognised as a vital part of the nursing and clinical pharmacy teams, assisting in the safe supply of medications and facilitating the discharge of patients. The trust has invested in the roll out of these positions across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our clinical teams working alongside nursing and pharmacy staff to deliver a comprehensive, patient-centred and high-quality pharmacy service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an essential link between clinical and dispensary-based pharmacy services while supporting nurses to care for patients at ward level.
  • Undertake ward-level activities and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients (e.g., medicines supply, drug administration and dispensing medication).
  • Utilise clinical systems to assist nursing staff and patients.
  • Assist in safe supply of medications and facilitate patient discharge as part of the clinical pharmacy team.
Hours

Working hours at present are 8.30am to 5.00pm.
