Job description

An secondment opportunity has arisen for a ward manager position on Hurst Place at Tameside General Hospital, for 6 month period. Hurst Place is a 15 bed, mental health rehabilitation unit for males who suffer with complex and enduring mental health illnesses. Our service users may also present with physical health conditions and other comorbidities.,

  • Management of the clinical team: ensuring that the team are working effectively both as individuals and as a team. This includes: recruitment, retention, development, and support and performance management of their staff.
  • Management of the Service User Experience: acting as the clinical lead for the unit, leading the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that their team are responsive to service user needs and that the clinical documentation is robust.
  • Management of local Governance Processes: auditing and evaluating the services as required by the Trust and Directorate policies. Reporting into the Governance and Clinical Business Unit (CBU) meetings and to the Clinical Services Manager.
