Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for two motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic Ward Clerks that have an interest in Women's Health and Early Pregnancy to join the existing team on our busy female surgical ward (Beaumont Ward) and the Emergency Assessment area (EPAGU). The ward is evolving becoming a more dynamic workplace which requires the correct applicant.

Ward Details

The ward has 14 In-patient beds, 2 of which are SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) beds and attached to the ward is an emergency unit - EPAGU (Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology Assessment Unit).

Shift Details

The Ward Clerks will be expected to work 07:30 - 20:00 Monday- Friday (Shifts will be shared between the two successful candidates). The successful candidates will work on the ward but may be required to work for short periods the clinic throughout their shift.

Responsibilities and Expectations

The role of the Ward Clerk is multi-faceted.

The successful candidate will provide support to all members of the clinical team and supports the Ward Manager in clerical duties. They help facilitate the daily running of the department.

Qualifications

Gynaecology/Early Pregnancy experience is desirable and candidates must have a good understanding around sensitive subjects such as miscarriages. It is also desirable to have previous administration experience and knowledge of hospital systems.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and a positive, professional and proactive attitude. They will be a welcoming member of the team for patients, visitors and staff on the ward.
