Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a ward clerk to provide clerical and administrative support to nursing and medical staff. Responsibilities include managing patient records, assisting during admissions, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, teamwork capabilities, and a capacity to learn quickly. This position is for 30 hours a week with variable shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reception of patients and relatives to the unit.
  • Perform clerical duties associated with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
  • Communicate with patients, visitors, and colleagues to support the unit.
  • Maintain case notes efficiently and file clinical notes.
  • Work with ward coordinator to book scans and arrange follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinate with other departments and services.
  • Collect and distribute mail and perform general office duties.
  • Collaborate with stroke multidisciplinary team members.
